They contain nearly all our vitamins and minerals including choline (b vitamin), and omega 3 and others that are necessary for life, especially brain function.
So fats were demonised in an attempt to fix the heart disease epidemic, by the government, which was a failure. Now we need to rebuild the credibility of fats. The reason for this is that fat makes up most of our brain, including the connections in the brain. The brain uses fat soluable fat nutrients to help it function including the nervous system. Even our mitochondria function better when some of energy comes from fats. It is argued in some corners that our diabetes and Alzheimers crisis is in part due to a whole generation being told to cut fats, which accidently led to a rise in sugars.
Although a word of warning some fats like
it seems not a good idea for our bodies to use a fat that is so tough. Maybe our cells need a little flexibility, so they might be able to function properly. Where do these transfats come from? These are mostly created from over heated oils in frying pans or are deliberately manufactured and used in some processed foods because of their consistancy,
Cells, hormones, the brain and its connections, insulation, and the transport of fat soluble vitamins like A D E and K are made of fat or need fat. Good fats are also an excellent form of energy, that being on a keto diet perfers.
